Vol. 553 No. 5

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

344 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will instruct the Land Registry Office to issue a dealing number for a vesting order to register the voluntary re-arrangement of lands (details supplied) in County Mayo, as lodged on 28 November 1995; and when copy folios and maps will issue in this regard. [14463/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that these are applications for registration by way of a vesting order and for a copy map. The vesting order application was lodged on 4 December 1995. Schedule number V0000SM092710V refers. The copy map application was lodged on 21 June 2002. Copy map application number C2002SM03891U refers.

Land Commission vesting orders and fiats are deemed to be registered as of the date of vesting which is prior to the date of lodgement of the documents in the Land Registry. Accordingly, registration in the Land Registry of Land Commission cases is afforded a lower priority than the registration of other dealings.

I am also informed, in relation to the vesting order application, that queries will issue shortly to the lands division of the Department of Agriculture and Food and that the matter will receive further attention on receipt of a reply in relation to these queries. I understand that due to the complicated nature of this type of application it is not possible to estimate a date of completion at this time. However, I can assure the Deputy that this application is receiving attention in the Land Registry. I can also inform the Deputy that the copy map application will receive attention.
In relation to the application for a copy folio, I am further informed that there is no record of a copy folio application pending on this folio at present. If the Deputy can provide me with the date of lodgement of the application and a Land Registry reference number I will make further inquiries on his behalf.
