Vol. 553 No. 5

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

375 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the proposed new sewerage scheme for Dungarvan, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14631/02]

This scheme has been approved to commence construction this year under my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2002-2004. Contract documents for the collection and delivery system for the scheme were approved in August 2001 and my Department now awaits the submission of Waterford County Council's tender recommendation for these works. The tender documents for the waste water treatment plant, which is to be procured as a design-build-operate contract, were approved by my Department earlier this month and it is now a matter for Waterford County Council to invite tenders for this element of the scheme.
