Question:

144 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science the members and qualifications of the National Youth Work Advisory Committee; the members of the sub-committee appointed to consider the issues involved with the implementation of the various sections of the Act; when this sub-committee is expected to make its report to the National Youth Work Advisory Committee; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information requested by the Deputy is given in the following tabular statement. The members of the National Youth Work Advisory Committee were appointed in accordance with the terms of section 17 and 18 of the Youth Work Act, 2001. A further two appointments will be made in the near future. As regards the sub-committee of the National Youth Work Advisory Committee dealing with the implementation considerations of the Youth Work Act, 2001, this sub-committee reports to the National Youth Work Advisory Committee on an ongoing basis and it is not possible at this stage to indicate when the work of this sub-committee will be completed.
