Vol. 553 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

205 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in terms of his Department's response to accommodation, teaching and other needs at all primary schools in Celbridge, County Kildare, with particular reference to the requirement for extra school places; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14991/02]

Officials from the planning and building unit of my Department, in conjunction with the local inspector, are currently examining the availability of pupil places in Celbridge for the forthcoming school year with a view to optimising the use of existing accommodation and providing additional capacity, where necessary.

The staffing needs of the schools are also being addressed by my Department, in correspondence with the relevant boards of management.
