Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Denis Naughten

Question:

1473 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will approve funding to Roscommon County Council to provide a discoloration unit and augment the supply at Killeglan Springs, County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15805/02]

The south Roscommon regional water supply scheme, which incorporates this proposal, is included in my Department's water services investment programme 2002 – 2004, as a scheme to advance through planning. In July 2002 I approved a brief for the appointment of a client's representative to prepare a design review report and contract documents for this and a number of other schemes in the county being advanced as a grouped project.

Question No. 1474 answered with Question No. 1442.

Michael Ring

Question:

1475 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the Shrule water scheme, County Mayo. [15872/02]

The extension of the Lough Mask regional water supply scheme to Kilmaine and Shrule is included in my Department's water services investment programme 2002 – 2004, as a scheme to advance through planning. Contract documents submitted by Mayo County Council in 1987, but not approved at the time, will require revision and updated proposals are awaited by my Department from the council.
