1507 Mr. Cuffe asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the Wildlife (Amendment) Act, 2000, covers national heritage areas which are in State ownership. [16219/02]

The legal powers of the Wildlife (Amendment) Act, 2000, to designate National Heritage Areas extend to all suitable lands irrespective of whether these are in public or private ownership.
