Question:

1531 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the allo cation of specific funding for class III local roads to Roscommon County Council in each of the past ten years; the total budget available to his Department under this heading for each particular year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16537/02]

Non-national road grants for class III local roads were first allocated in 1997. The information requested is set out in the following table:

I understand that my colleague, the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, has allocated €5,000,000 for class III local roads under the CLÁR programme in 2002 of which €450,000 was allocated to Roscommon County Council.
