Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Transport.

John McGuinness

Question:

741 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if school transport will be arranged for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if a personal assistant can be provided in this case; if a transport arrangement will be considered which will facilitate three other similar cases in the locality; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17222/02]

The facility attended by the person in question is a training workshop for adults with learning disabilities. It does not come under the remit of my Department. My Department would, however, be prepared to allow individuals attending such centres avail of incidental free transport on existing school services subject to there being room available and no extra cost being incurred.
