Question:

740 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason no decision has been made regarding the granting of departmental recognition to Gael-Coláiste, St. Augustines College, Duckspool, Dungarvan, County Waterford; if this matter will be progressed forthwith; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17218/02]

An application for the recognition of an all-Irish unit at St. Augustine's College is under consideration in the planning section of my Department.

A decision on the application will be taken as soon as possible and the school management authorities will be advised of the outcome.
