Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

963 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will investigate the case where a person (details supplied) in County Cork was refused renewal of their medical card, and where this person is a severe diabetic with many diabetic related illnesses. [15693/02]

Responsibility for the provision of a medical card in this case rests with the Southern Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.
