Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Public Order Offences.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

1365 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will request the Garda authorities to examine the concerns of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 in relation to public drinking and related matters. [16067/02]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the area in question, which is in close proximity to Christchurch, is policed by gardaí from Kevin Street station.

I am also informed that this locality is intensively policed by uniformed and detective personnel who are augmented by specialist units as the need arises. The maintenance of public order in this area is a priority for the local Gardaí and will continue to be so. I am also informed that the policing needs of the area are being kept under review.

Question No. 1366 answered with Question No. 1359.
