Question:

387 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his plans for work to continue at Kells Priory, County Kilkenny; the level of funding allocated to the site; the work involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17978/02]

Works on this site will recommence this month. Under the national development plan, €300,000 is proposed to be spent on conservation and safety works between now and the end of 2004. Site presentation works will also be carried out which will include renewing gravelled areas, cutting back vegetation and removing excavation spoil. Information panels and signs will also be erected.
