188 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has made provision to change the guideline subventions for nursing home subvention or to amend the means test during 2003; and the planned change in this regard. [22984/02]
The nursing home subvention scheme is currently being reviewed by my Department in the light of the expenditure review of the scheme, the findings in the Ombudsman's report and experience gained from the operation of the scheme since its inception in 1993. Any amendment of the type suggested by the Deputy will be considered in the context of that review.
