142 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the case of a person (details supplied); if this person will be granted the financial support; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22880/02]
My Department understands that the person referred to by the Deputy is pursuing the higher diploma in nursing studies – public health nursing – at St. Angela's College, Sligo. This is not an approved course for the purposes of my Department's higher education grants scheme. Inquiries regarding funding for this course are a matter for the Department of Health and Children and, where appropriate, the relevant health board.
