Vol. 557 No. 5

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

158 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if his attention has been drawn to the necessity to develop and improve Rannagh Pier, Arranmore Island, County Donegal; his plans for the development; if funds will be allocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22875/02]

Rannagh Pier, Arranmore Island, County Donegal, is owned by Donegal County Council and responsibility for its development and maintenance rests with the county council in the first instance. As the pier is located in a gaeltacht area the question of provision of financial assistance is a matter for the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
