Vol. 558 No. 1

Written Answers. - Spending Estimates.

Paul Kehoe

Question:

93 Mr. Kehoe asked the Minister for Transport his views on the 2003 Estimates. [23534/02]

The 2003 Estimates for my Department show the significant investment that is being made in the provision of transport infrastructure and in the support for services. The Estimate provides for expenditure of over €1.8 billion in the coming year. It is a clear confirmation of the Government's ongoing commitment to delivering infrastructure projects that will be the foundation for future expansion and economic growth. Despite the present difficult economic climate it represents an increase of almost 3% over the comparable 2002 abridged Estimate figure. This enables me to progress the development of key projects in the roads, public transport and aviation sectors. The Deputy will be aware that I outlined details of these projects in my speech on the Estimates last week.

Question No. 94 answered with Question No. 60.
