236 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding an application by Kildare County Council for funding to provide a community centre at Dara Road, Newbridge; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24056/02]
Kildare County Council was advised in December 2001 of my Department's approval in principle to a contribution of up to €127,000 towards the cost of a community centre in Dara Park estate, Newbridge.
It is understood that tenders for the construction of the centre are currently being examined by the council.
