Vol. 558 No. 3

Written Answers. - Army Barracks.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

72 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Defence if more personnel have been removed from the Army barracks in Monaghan; if it is his intention to wind down the numbers involved in Monaghan Army barracks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24230/02]

As I have previously advised the Deputy, there are no plans for a reduction in Defence Forces personnel in Monaghan barracks. It is not the policy to disclose the number of military personnel at any particular military post or barracks. Other than for normal administrative routine matters, such as leave, courses, overseas, discharges, etc., there has been no reduction in the strength of personnel serving in Monaghan barracks.
