Vol. 558 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Mary Wallace

Question:

310 Ms M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that, further to Parliamentary Question No. 948 of 9 October 2002, the person in question is on the waiting list for an ear, nose and throat operation on 25 February 2004 for Mater Hospital and that this hospital is not under the control of the NEHB; and the way his Department intends to pursue the matter. [24570/02]

Responsibility for the provision of acute hospital services to residents of County Meath rests with the North-Eastern Health Board, NEHB. As stated in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 948 of 9 October 2002, I requested the chief executive officer of the NEHB to investigate the position in this case. I have now been advised by the health board that this patient has been issued with an out-patient appointment for 18 December, 2002 at the Mater Hospital, Dublin.
