327 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the value of domiciliary care allowance and mobility allowance; and the comparator among social welfare payments which is used to determine the annual percentage increase in this payment. [24800/02]
The current maximum rate of domiciliary care allowance is €179.80 per month, while the current maximum monthly rate of mobility allowance is €126.00.
The budgetary rates of increase in these allowances are in line with general social welfare payments. The most typical comparator would be unemployment assistance or disability allowance.
328 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a training allowance is payable to persons in the Eastern Regional Health Authority with an intellectual disability who are undertaking training but is not payable to persons attending training organised by St. Michael's House. [24803/02]
The approval of rehabilitative training courses to individual third party service providers, and the payment by them of the relevant weekly bonus to trainees, is a matter for the relevant health board or authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly as a matter of urgency.
