Section 35 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 and article 20 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1999 sets out the provisions under which provisional licences have effect. I will arrange to have a briefing note on the legal provision forwarded to the Deputy.
