945 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if there are regulations or guidelines to be issued to local authorities as an element of local Government reform regarding the establishment of a community fund/initiative. [2156/03]
Details of the provisions of the Local Government Act 2001 relating to the establishment of a community fund and a community initiative scheme were notified to local authorities on 31 May last. These provide for an extensive public consultation process including an option to hold a plebiscite and I envisage that regulations regarding such plebiscites will be made later this year and notified to local authorities.
