Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

John Cregan

Question:

193 Mr. Cregan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the position with clients who have a work permit with some employers for six years; the way in which the extended work permit is granted, if an existing work permit is updated and extended or if a new permit is applied for and given for an extended period; if it is the same application form [1943/03]

Where an employee remains with the same employer for five consecutive years, a permit without limit is issued to that employer from the sixth year. The employer applies in the normal way using the application form appropriate for renewal of permits.
