Vol. 560 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Tony Gregory

Question:

77 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has satisfied himself that the staffing, operation and availability of qualified medical personnel at the nursing home (details supplied) in Dublin 8 meets the required standards [2253/03]

The operation of nursing homes is governed by the Nursing Home (Care and Welfare) Regulations, 1993, which places the onus of inspection on the relevant health board. As responsibility for health care in the Dublin 8 area lies with the Eastern Regional Health Authority, my Department has asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.
