Vol. 560 No. 5

Written Answers. - Garda Equipment.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

116 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the State is insured against the possible effects of ionising radiation on the public from Garda radio masts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3153/03]

All Garda masts operate well within approved safety limits. More generally, the State, in effect, carries its own insurance, in relation to the Garda Síochána in that it indemnifies the public against loss or injury caused through Garda operations or Garda equipment.
