Vol. 560 No. 5

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

96 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kildare has been refused a medical card on income grounds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3128/03]

Responsibility for the provision of services to medical card holders is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board-authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
