Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Dan Boyle

Question:

126 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Education and Science if most recent inspection reports by his Department on conditions at Ringaskiddy national school, County Cork, reveal the school to be adequate in terms of health and safety standards; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4198/03]

The primary responsibility for the health and safety of the pupils and teachers at Ringaskiddy national school rests with the school's board of management. The onus is on the board use the annual minor works grant that they receive from my Department to ensure that urgent health and safety issues are satisfactorily addressed.
