Vol. 561 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

127 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will request the transport section of his Department to examine again the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare whose parents cannot provide school transport, notwithstanding the grant assistance already offered; if he will examine the special circumstances in this and similar cases where neither public transport or the offer of grant assistance is adequate to meet requirements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4221/03]

In light of a recent report received from Bus Éireann concerning the pupil in question, my Department is carrying out a review of the case. The Deputy will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.
