406 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of women whose procedures for gynaecological investigations and operations have been cancelled or postponed since 1 January 2003 at the University College Hospital in Cork; the numbers awaiting such procedures or operations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of services at Cork University Hospital is a matter, in the first instance, for the Southern Health Board.

My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to her.
