171 Mr. Gogarty asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the estimated entire wild salmon stocks on Irish rivers and lakes over each of the past ten years; and the percentage of the tagged catch which comes from both hatchery released stocks and escaped farm salmon. It is not possible to provide the information in the format sought by the Deputy within the time available to answer his question. In any event, the information would best be provided by the Marine Institute. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Marine Institute to address the Deputy's requirements and to reply to him directly in the matter.
