Tony Gregory

Question:

103 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the threatened restrictions in the services of the Dublin Institute of Technology College of Music, particularly affecting primary and second level students; if he will intervene in view of the importance of the college to the future of music education; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6817/03]

The Dublin Institute of Technology is a statutory body established under the Dublin Institute of Technology Act 1992. Under that Act, the governance and day to day activities of the institute are matters for which the governing body and the management staff of the institute are responsible. This includes decisions in relation to the operation and management of the Dublin Institute of Technology College of Music.
