The constitution of State boards is governed by statute and I am obliged to make some appointments based on nominations which I receive from nominating bodies and some appointments are ex officio. In the case of the National Pensions Reserve Fund Commission for example, the legislation includes detailed provisions regarding the qualification of board members. In all cases my aim in making appointments to State boards is to select people with the required qualities, expertise and experience to make a contribution to the body in question. Detailed information of the type which would facilitate a comprehensive reply being provided to the question is not held concerning individuals appointed to State boards under the aegis of my Department.
