Vol. 564 No. 1

Written Answers - Citizenship Applications.

Pat Carey

Question:

259 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if an application by a person (details supplied) in County Dublin can be examined; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8716/03]

There is no record in the citizenship section of my Department of an application for citizenship from the person referred to by the Deputy.

Based on the details provided, it appears that naturalisation would be the appropriate route to Irish citizenship for the person concerned. I have asked the officials in the citizenship section to forward the necessary applications forms and any relevant information to the Deputy for transmission to the person in question.

Further information on Irish citizenship can be obtained by telephoning the citizenship helpline, LoCall no. 1890 551500 on any Tuesday and Thursday morning between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. or visiting the Department's website at www.justice.ie.
