Vol. 564 No. 1

Written Answers - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Noel Grealish

Question:

303 Mr. Grealish asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the sewerage scheme for Ballygally Road, Tuam, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8952/03]

Tuam main drainage scheme, stage 2-Ballygaddy Road, was approved for funding under my Department's serviced land initiative in 1998 at an estimated cost of €1.15 million. However, the approved proposals were subsequently modified by Galway County Council in favour of a larger and more expensive scheme. The revised proposals are being examined in my Department in light of additional information received from the council last month.
