Written Answers - Water and Sewerage Schemes.
Tuam main drainage scheme, stage 2-Ballygaddy Road, was approved for funding under my Department's serviced land initiative in 1998 at an estimated cost of €1.15 million. However, the approved proposals were subsequently modified by Galway County Council in favour of a larger and more expensive scheme. The revised proposals are being examined in my Department in light of additional information received from the council last month.

Question:304 Mr. Grealish asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the Carna-Kilkernan water scheme, County Galway; if funding is still available for the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8953/03]
The Carna-Kilkieran water supply scheme has been approved for construction in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2002-2004. My Department is awaiting the submission of contract documents for the scheme by Galway County Council.

Question:305 Mr. Grealish asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the sewerage scheme for Oughterard, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8954/03]
The Oughterard sewerage scheme is included in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2002 – 2004 to commence construction in 2004. My Department is awaiting the submission of a preliminary report for the scheme by Galway County Council.
