97 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding proposals submitted to his Department by Waterford County Council for a proposed new water scheme for Ring, County Waterford; when he expects this scheme to proceed to construction; if adequate funding will be made available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Ring/Helvic water supply scheme is included in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2002-2004 as a scheme to start construction in 2004, at an estimated cost of €3.2 million. The preliminary report for the scheme, recently submitted by Waterford County Council, is under examination in my Department and will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
