179 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if he has received an application from the committee of Kilkenny Arts Week for funding for the annual festival in Kilkenny city; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9402/03]
My Department has not received any request for funding from the committee of Kilkenny Arts Week. Government funding for the arts, including for festivals etc. is in the main channelled through the Arts Council which is autonomous in the disbursement of the funds made available to it by Government.
