227 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science the amount of money spent by his Department on the architectural planning of all schools in the section 6 and 7 lists of the 2003 school building programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10066/03]
The information requested by the Deputy is not readily available in regard to the projects shown at sections 6 and 7 of the programme. Fees payable to design team are in the region of 13% of the actual construction cost. As none of these projects has proceeded to construction it is not possible to provide definitive information on the overall liability in respect of fees. It is not the practice of my Department to provide estimated costs of building projects in advance of placing a contract as to do so would compromise the tendering process.
