Vol. 564 No. 5

Written Answers - Garda Transfers.

John Deasy

Question:

401 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will investigate the circumstances surrounding the consistent transfer of a retired member of the Garda Síochána (details supplied) in County Cork during his term of employment, to a number of Garda stations all over the country; if this was normal during that period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9779/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that the person referred to by the Deputy and other persons on his behalf have made representations in relation to this matter over a number of years. These representations have been examined by successive Ministers for Justice but no evidence was found by them of any injustice to the person concerned. In the absence of any significant new information it is not proposed to revisit the matter.
