Dan Neville

Question:

223 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children the details of the report of the investigation into the death by suicide of a person (details supplied) at St. Patrick's Hospital, Dublin. [10278/03]

Under Section 272 of the Mental Treatment Act 1945, all clinical directors are required to report sudden deaths to the Inspector of Mental Hospitals. The case the Deputy refers to was notified to the inspector on 29 April 1999. No further investigation was deemed necessary by the inspector.
