108 Mr. O'Dowd asked the Minister for Education and Science if funding will be made available to the Drogheda integrated early school leavers project in 2003; the amounts allocated in previous years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11324/03]
My Department has not received an application for funding for 2003 from the project referred to by the Deputy. Drogheda integrated early school leavers project received funding of €57,000 in 2002 under the fund for the development of targeted educational responses to certain children at risk. My Department is currently examining project applications received in the context of the amount available to the fund in 2003. In assessing applications for funding, consideration is given to Department supported interventions already in place in the areas concerned so as to avoid any duplication of effort and resources.
