176 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Defence the progress which has been made in acquiring a property in Roscrea, County Tipperary, to facilitate the decentralisation of the civil defence branch of his Department to Roscrea; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11558/03]
The Deputy will be aware that, in the context of the White Paper on Defence, the Government decided to decentralise the Civil Defence branch of my Department to Roscrea in County Tipperary. The Office of Public Works, which has responsibility for the provision of official accommodation for Departments, is currently considering a number of expressions of interest from developers and property owners in providing such accommodation in Roscrea for the decentralised Civil Defence branch.
