Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Olwyn Enright

Question:

373 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if it is a condition of forestry grants aided by his Department on the issue of grant cheques that adequate title be shown by the person in respect of lands to be planted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11561/03]

In order to qualify for afforestation grants and premiums applicants must own, lease or be in joint management of the lands proposed for planting. All applicants are obliged to submit to the forest service of my Department documentary evidence of ownership, leasing or joint management.
