Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Naturalisation Applications.

Finian McGrath

Question:

641 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if assistance will be provided in the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 14 in relation to their application for citizenship and the ending of further delays in the process. [11802/03]

A declaration of acceptance of post-nuptial citizenship from the person referred to by the Deputy was received in my Department on 19 August 2002. Following an examination of the declaration and supporting documentation by officials in the citizenship section of my Department, a letter issued on 10 April last to the person concerned regarding aspects of the completion of the forms and seeking additional supporting documentation. A reply to this letter has not yet been received and, consequently, it is not possible to finalise the matter at this point in time. I will advise the Deputy when the matter has been concluded.
