Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

640 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when an application for a land certificate by persons (details supplied) in County Mayo will be dealt with. [11799/03]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application for the issue of a duplicate land certificate which was lodged on 27 June 2001. Application No. D2001SM004693Y refers. The Deputy will be aware that applications for duplicate land certificates take time to process due to the fact that notices have to issue to a number of institutions, an advertisement needs to be placed in The Law Society Gazette and certain time limits have to elapse before the application can receive further consideration. I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that a query in relation to this application was issued to the lodging solicitor on 22 April 2003. I am also informed that notices in relation to this application were sent to relevant institutions who may be able to assist the Land Registry with this application on 22 April 2003. I can assure the Deputy that once the notice period expires and on receipt of a satisfactory reply to the query raised, the application will receive further consideration.
