Vol. 566 No. 1

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

719 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when funding will be made available to Galway County Council to carry out the Airglooney sewerage scheme at Tuam, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11702/03]

Tuam main drainage scheme, stage 2, Ballygaddy Road, which includes Airglooney, was approved for funding under my Departments serviced land initiative in 1998 at an estimated cost of €1.15 million. However, the approved proposals were subsequently modified by Galway County Council in favour of a larger and more expensive scheme. Further consideration of the revised proposals must await the receipt of outstanding information requested from the council last month.
