Vol. 566 No. 5

Written Answers. - Home Help Service.

Michael Ring

Question:

98 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is only getting three hours home help per week; and if this person can be given more help based on obvious need. [13232/03]

The provision of health related services, including home support services, for people with physical and-or sensory disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board with a request that she examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
