John McGuinness

Question:

115 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in admitting a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Dublin, for surgery on a leg; the reason the appointment for 12 May 2003 was cancelled; if another appointment will be expedited; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13324/03]

The provision of hospital services for people living in County Kilkenny is a matter for the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position and to reply directly to the Deputy.
