Question:

306 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the importance of the respite services at St. Vincent's Special School and Hospital, Navan Road, Dublin, to the families of students attending the facility; and if no cutbacks in services will take place. [13435/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 304 to 306, inclusive, together.

I am aware of the concerns which have been raised in relation to the services referred to by the Deputy. Responsibility for the provision of services to persons with an intellectual disability or autism in the Dublin region lies with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. The authority is in discussions with the Daughters of Charity regarding the level of service provision that can be provided within the resources available in 2003. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
