Vol. 567 No. 2

Written Answers. - Treatment Purchase Fund.

Mary Upton

Question:

214 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of patients treated under the national treatment purchase fund to date; the total amount spent on treating patients; the way in which money is spent under this scheme, for example, on hospital stay, medical costs and transport costs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13952/03]

To date, some 4,200 patients have received treatment under the national treatment purchase fund. The other information requested by the Deputy is not immediately available in the Department. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive of the national treatment purchase fund to communicate directly with the Deputy in the matter.
