Vol. 568 No. 1

Written Answers. - Third Level Fees.

Olivia Mitchell

Question:

313 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science if he or the governing body of Dublin Institute of Technology can justify a 25% fee increase in music tuition fees against a fee of increase of 10% for all other courses; and if fair treatment for pupils of the former Dublin Municipal School of Music can be facilitated. [15190/03]

The Dublin Institute of Technology is a statutory body established under the Dublin Institute of Technology Act 1992. Under that Act, the governance and day to day activities of the institute are matters for which the governing body and the management staff of the institute are responsible. This includes decisions in relation to the operation and management of the Dublin Institute of Technology College of Music.
